Baked salmon with sweet potato
Salmon and sweet potato baked on separate trays with basil, pepper and cumin. The sweet potato goes in first because it takes longer, then the salmon, so it stays juicy. It practically cooks itself: put it in the oven and forget about the kitchen.

Adaptations
How to change it depending on the day. Each change keeps the dish, it does not replace it.
Nausea or sensitivity to smells
Baked salmon has quite a strong smell: steam it or cook it en papillote (wrapped in baking paper) and eat it lukewarm.
Mouth sores or dry mouth
Prepare it without cumin or pepper, and flake the salmon over mashed sweet potato so you can swallow it without chewing.
Altered taste
Salmon is one of the stronger-tasting fish, which can help when your sense of taste is muted. If it tastes metallic, try using plastic cutlery.
What it provides
Salmon is an oily fish: it provides protein, omega-3 fats and zinc. Sweet potato provides carbohydrates and beta-carotene, with a touch of sweetness that makes the dish more appealing.
The dietitian's tip
The sweet potato goes in before the salmon because it takes longer; if you put them in together, the fish will dry out. Leaving the skin on keeps the sweet potato juicier, and it slips off when you serve it.
This is part of the weekly menu for people with cancer. Also from the same menu: oven-baked breaded hake and broccoli and cheese soup.
What a recipe is not
This recipe fits into a plan; it does not replace one. It cures nothing and it is not calculated for one particular person: the quantities are indicative and will need adjusting to your case.
If you have a medical condition, take medication or follow a prescribed diet, check with your doctor or your dietitian before changing anything.
