Product suitability assessment from a nutritional perspective
The challenge
Assessing the suitability of products from a nutritional and health perspective, analysing how they fit a given consumption context and ensuring that decisions were based on rigorous scientific criteria consistent with a responsible approach to nutrition.

The solution
At Alimmenta we carried out several product suitability assessment projects, contributing expert nutrition and health judgement to analyse how well products fit their consumption context and current market trends.
The projects included:
-
A detailed review of each product’s ingredients and nutritional values, assessing their consistency with a responsible approach to nutrition and with current nutritional recommendations.
-
Analysis of the overall nutritional profile, identifying strengths and areas for improvement from a health and positioning perspective.
-
Proposed adjustments and possible reformulations, aimed at optimising the nutritional profile of the products and aligning them with market expectations and healthy eating trends.
-
An assessment of the scientific evidence associated with the ingredients and the product’s nutritional positioning.
-
Translating the technical analysis into clear, actionable conclusions to support decision-making by internal teams.
The result
A clear, well-founded product suitability assessment, which helped identify opportunities for improvement and guide adjustments and reformulations from a nutritional and scientific perspective.
The proposals put forward helped optimise the products’ nutritional profile and improve their market fit, aligning them with current healthy eating trends, consumer expectations and responsible nutrition criteria, thereby supporting stronger decision-making in product development, reformulation and positioning.
