What is Nutri-Score
Nutri-Score is a front-of-pack nutrition labelling system that classifies foods and drinks on a five-letter, five-colour scale, from A (most favourable nutritional profile) to E (least favourable). An algorithm weighs, per 100 g or 100 ml, what should be limited (energy, sugars, saturated fat and salt) against what should be favoured (fibre, protein and fruit, vegetables, pulses or nuts).
In Spain, as in the rest of the European Union, it is voluntary: each company decides whether to add it to its packaging.
1 · Enter the values
The ones from the nutrition information table, per 100 g or 100 ml, and choose the product category.
2 · Complete what applies
The percentage of fruit, vegetables, pulses or nuts and, depending on the category, the data the calculator asks for.
3 · Read the result
The letter, the score and a breakdown of which components add points and which subtract them.
An indicative estimate
It's useful for exploring formulation scenarios. It does not replace analytical validation or regulatory advice before printing the Nutri-Score on packaging.
Categories with their own rules
Beverages, cheeses and fats, oils and nuts have specific tables: it's worth reviewing them case by case.
We'll help you improve it
We review the formulation with you to improve the product's actual nutritional profile, not just the letter.
Product review →Frequently asked questions about Nutri-Score
Is Nutri-Score mandatory in Spain?
No. It's a voluntary system: the company decides whether to show it on the packaging.
What does each letter mean?
It goes from A (most favourable nutritional profile) to E (least favourable). It doesn't say whether a food is "good" or "bad" in itself, but how it compares nutritionally.
Do I need laboratory data?
The more precise the values, the more reliable the estimate. With approximate data, the result is only indicative.
Is the result my product's official Nutri-Score?
Not necessarily. It's an estimate using the public algorithm; the value printed on the packaging must be validated following the official procedure.
Can you help me improve the score?
Yes. With our product review service we analyse the formulation and propose science-based adjustments.
